Featured Book - King of the Unblessed
NEW ROMANTIC TIMES MAGAZINE REVIEW - "4 STARS! Those looking for an enjoyable, fast-paced tale of mystery and magic will want to grab this book. Pillow has crafted a magical domain" Karen Sweeny-Justice, Romantic Times
BLURB: Immortality has a way of changing fate. Merrick, dark elfin King of Valdis, had once been heir to all that was good - happiness and pleasure his domain. Now, trapped as the ruler of mischief, king of necessary evil, he stands on a precipice of choice. On one side, his estranged brother, now ruler of what should have been Merrick's and, on the other, King Lucien of the Damned. Both would sway him. Damnation is winning.
Lady Juliana of Bellemare is from a human family, protected by the blessed, coveted by the damned. Betrothed to an old friend of her father's, Juliana is resigned to living out her days close to her childhood home, longing for an adventure, never dreaming she’d get what she wished for. When her fiancé is murdered and the children of Bellemare are stolen, Juliana is sent on a quest in a strange realm where appearances are deceiving.
Merrick brings more adventure and passion than any woman could want. Can she withstand the temptations of the unblessed king? The spell she weaves over him is more than he can resist and, desperate to be the one to rule her, Merrick offers her a choice; either come with him until he tires of her...or die.
I am finally done with the new website. :) ((((YEAH)))) It was really overdue for a major overhaul, so I just started from scratch, gave it a new look and added some nifty features--including book videos, search by series or by genre pages, excerpts, an easier to use navigational set up and some cool extras.
Thank you to all who gave advice when I put the call out for what programs you use.
So, if you get a chance, stop by and check it out and tell me what you think :) Oh, and watch the book videos. I'm addicted to making them and really like having the excuse to continue playing with the program, lol.
Roark O'Connell is a lycan on the prowl. For what, he's not always sure. His job within the clan keeps him moving around and boredom often sets in. It's boredom that causes him to make a bet with his brother James to hire an etiquette coach. Expecting an old schoolmarm type, he's blown away to discover the sexiest woman he's ever laid eyes on. The prim and proper Natasha might be there to tame his untamed ways, but he's just the man to fulfill her wildest, most erotic dreams.
He made a promise he didn’t keep…now both mortals and immortals alike will pay the price.
Realm Immortal Book Two
It is ill-advised to incur the wrath of a faery, but it is most foolish to do so of a faery queen…
Queen Tania has waited over a year for the Earl of Bellemare. When he left her palace to help blessed King Ean fight a battle to save the earl’s sister, she expected him to come back for her when the encounter was over. Instead, he left her, returning to the world of mortals and his precious Bellemare. He made her a promise he didn’t keep and now both realms will pay the price for his deceit.
Hugh, Earl of Bellemare, hates the immortal realm. Though it has brought his family blessings, it is now taking everything he holds dear away. Most heartbreaking of all is the sister he was forced to leave behind. Juliana married the unblessed King Merrick, a man who can never love her, and he blames Queen Tania for securing the match. He’s spent a year trying to forget the faery queen, but it seems she’s not done meddling with his family…
TALONS—a compelling assortment of five stories, soaring to new heights of passion with shape shifting birds of prey.
Take flight with a king who must take a mate in order to save his people, finding her in the unlikeliest of places; a princess whose destined mate is a falcon commander she’s previously tormented; a man locked in a cage for fifty years now hunting revenge; a legendary firebird a Collector seeks for his private collection; and a raven shifter who delivers death with the simplest touch.
No feat is too high for these lovers contending with both enemies and their own hearts, in the end waging the most dangerous battle of all—the battle of love.
I've been thinking of titles and will admit not all I've come up with are gems waiting to shine. There are several things that go into a book, not all of which are under an author's control. We get coverart, good or bad. We get distribution, placement, advertising help--all at the will of others. But there are things we do get a big say in.
Aside from writing the book and (for some of us) occasionally the blurb (that gets used), naming characters (hey I almost named a heroine Valora, which I still think is pretty but of which someone pointed out it sounded like and STD). The title is perhaps one of the most important decisions we have to make when it comes to marketing. A bad title can make or break a book.
Okay, so I'm bored and amusing myself by creating titles to what could be horrible erotic novel titles. The challenge? Come up with your own and post them here (since i have two blogs - blogger and myspace, i reserve the right to copy them over so everyone can see). And, if you're feeling really ambitious, make it a tag line too.
And what's a challenge without a prize? So, I will give away a PDF copy of winner's choice from any of my ebook backlist.
To start us off, my favorite romantic suspense title out of my list: SHOOTING BLANKS

OMG-- I guess some fans emailed Mandy asking them for my favorite songs, or ones I liked to listen to when working on books. Um, she told them Puff the Magic Dragon. I'm dying laughing--but only because the person is a good sport and knows I'm not laughing at her.
Keep up the good work, readers!!! :) Michelle
