Things I've learned this summer
  • monkeys are for sale and my husband not-so-secretly wants one
  • people walk funny on the summit of Pikes Peak
  • a person can survive on coffee and rye chips
  • cats sometimes need furrcuts
  • an unattended pool will turn into a pond rather quickly
  • wild animals know my address and seem to think we're a sanctuary
  • I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up
  • a person can also surivive on pretzel pieces, preferably chedder
  • if you don't shave, scary things happen during a full moon
  • I am not a gardener, no matter how hard I try
  • some plants need water more than once a month

What did you learn this summer?

Wow, I learned a lot of the same things you did.
Except: when you turn 49, you can't survive on any food for very long without it turning against you; if you don't excercise, you get fat again--go figure; I also don't know what I want to be when I grow up (and despite everyone telling me that's not okay, I still want to write when and if I feel like it); I don't want to hear any more about Janny what's her name; I like the Mexican Riviera a lot more than it likes me; my cat is still my second best friend; my husband is still a knucklehead who keeps me going.

    Lets see.

    This summer, I've learned...

    * Instead of remodeling the house you bought to get the house you want, its better to just straight up build it. Oi Vey
    * Not to trust the husband when mudding and taping new sheetrock or painting the walls.
    * The hubby and the skilsaw do not mix well together. (thanks for the crooked countertops!)
    * I can drive my mother mad by telling her a secret and forbidding her to tell anyone but her husband.(she's ready to explode)
    * It only takes a tube of M&M mini's to buy Caitlyn's affections.
    * My SIL is truly delusional. Which does not bode well for any future nieces or nephews. *shudder*
*How to lay flooring, replacing sheetrock, mud, tape, & Texture sheetrock, install cabinets, install countertops.

I love your list Michelle. Especially the plants one, I kill plants. It's like a hobby.
