Realm Immortal: King of the Unblessed |
Some reviews for Realm Immortal: King of the Unblessed Excerpt and Buy Link: "5 TATTOOS! In Realm Immortal: King of the Unblessed, Ms. Pillow has crafted an emotionally gripping story of love and desire, deception and betrayal, all set against the backdrop of a war between good, evil and all that lies between. Imagery, plot and characterization drive any story. Often you will find a novel where one or possibly two of these are well done. Rare indeed is the book that does all three so brilliantly. From page one I was spellbound by the vivid imagery, engaging plot and believable characters. You are transported immediately into the two worlds; the mundane land of Bellemare, Julianas earthly home, and the Realm Immortal, home of the Blessed, Unblessed and Damned alike. Ms. Pillows rich words and sumptuous phrases bring both to life with a startling clarity.
Most novels in this genre draw on the never ending conflict of good and evil, but here, a third player has been thrown into the mix. Neither good, nor evil, the Unblessed represent those things in life that are necessary if not necessarily wanted. It adds a depth to a story that, again, pulls you in and holds you from the first page to the last.
There are a number of major characters in this story. Enough so that in the hands of a less skilled author, the characters and plots would become hopelessly muddled. Here the author deftly weaves the characters and plots into a beautiful tapestry.
While Juliana and Merricks relationship is the main focus of the book, several other characters have their chance to play in the sun. The result is love scenes that rate from sensual to lusty to a slight hint of kink; all of them sizzling.
I can only hope Ms. Pillow will take pity on us mortals and gift us with further adventures in the Realm Immortal."
