Legs the Hamster |
We got a new little pet today--just another addition to the zoo that is my life -- African Grey parrot, tons of fish, 2 prairie dogs, a bunny, 2 cats, an adoptive neighbor cat who for some reason thinks he needs to live inside my house as well, a duck, a dog and now two dwarf hamsters. Did I forget anything? Possible. Very Possible.
Anyway, how could I resist Legs? A cage fell on the poor thing when he was little and he can't use his back legs. They drag behind him. His upper body is huge to compensate. And when I say huge, I really mean tiny. Plus, he's just about the friendliest little furry thing. |

We've rescued and released a few turtles, but it was ususally in the same day. No getting too attached.
As for the parrot, they're really noisy. lol But very good talkers. His newest is mimicking cell phone rings.

Cute! Love little pets. Wish I had a parrot.

"Legs" that's just wrong. But REALLY funny!

Oy. What's wrong with Legs? I thought it was an adorbale name, lol.
Legs is just the sweetest thing. I had to lift him up to help him drink until we could get the water bottle arranged just right. His friend in the cage, Rascal, needed his own water bottle because the other one is too low. Ah, but they are so cute together. It melts my heart everytime. He fits right in the palm of my hand and likes to sleep there.

Legs is so cute Michelle! Makes me miss the days of my owning hamsters. I had 6 at one time. I had a female who got preggers and had 5 babies. My fvorite was the runt, who had problems with his back legs too. Mama actually outlived all her babies though, which surprised me.

We had a hamster when we were little. Had babies...and babies and babies, lol. I don't think mom was pleased.

dude - it looks like a mouse. I don't like mice, they remind me of rats.
I'm terrified of rats.
...and um - won't the parrot eat it? or the cats?

UPDATE: Sorry to say that Legs didn't make it. Come to find out, the cage fell on him a week ago, not when he was little. He had a few good days here doing all the things dwarf hamsters love to do--eating and sleeping. His buddy, Rascal, is doing wonderful though and is addicted to the hamster wheel.
