I don't want to be in pictures
Ugh, I don't think I can avoid it any longer. The dreaded author bio picture has to be done. Publisher are asking for it. Review/Feature sites are asking for it. Thankfully, no pervs are asking for it, lol They wouldn't get it anyway. My excuse of, 'I'm getting some done and will send as soon as I have them' is becoming highly suspect now that it's been 2 years since I first published.

I LOVE being behind the camera. I HATE getting my picture taken. I'm the infamous eyes closed, mouth open, dork you often see.

I fully intend that you'll be seeing whatever pic I finally get done in 60 years when my books are being re-released in holographic print.

Do you think the publishers would by an anime figure? Any good artists wanna draw me all Manga with kick ass boots, purple hair and a killer weapon?

Pretty Part 2
LOL, I really didn't expect you all to make my blog pretty, but thanks to those of you who offered.

I just played with the color scheme. Post (or email private since I know some of you don't like public posting) and tell me what you think. Better? Worse? Don't quit my day job writing?

Thanks,
Michelle

Make Me Pretty
That's it. I've had it with black. Website, black. Blog, black. Myspace...okay, well that has color and is kinda pretty if i do say so myself. And, to be fair, I do have some lovely purple pages hidden in the depths of my website. Can you find them, www.michellepillow.com ? Tell me where they are and I'll give you..um, undying praise for having as much desire to waste time as me today.
I want a pretty blog. http://michellespillowtalk.blogspot.com/ That's right, I said it. I want a pretty blog.
These people have pretty blogs:
http://wickedwriters.blogspot.com/ --- oh, wait, that one is naughty, *giggle*
And I want one to. (can you hear the stomp and whine, lol)
And naturally, I don't want to do it myself cause that would defeat the purpose of begging someone out there to make me pretty. :)

RT part 1, Who I met....
For those of you I met at RT (AKA Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Daytona Beach, Fl), It was so great seeing you and thank you for making my first convention and first book signing such a great success! I am still overwhelmed with how well the signing went. I was busy the entire time. You all made is such a wonderful experience and I can't thank you enough. Okay, enough gushing.

For those of you who didn't make it to Daytona for RT, I still want to thank you for your constant support.

----don't worry, I'll stop before I get gushy and start sounding like I won an Emmy, lol

RT was amazing. I sit down to write about it and I just get overwhelmed, so I'll do it in parts, I guess.

Part one
Who I met...

First, I met so many amazing readers--Pam, Sue, Kathy, Joy, Patrice, Debbie B, Debbie S (there were a few of you Debbies, lol), Pam C...okay, the list really does go on and I'll stop there, but really, it was great meeting you all!

As for authors, I can get as star struck as the next person. I saw Emma Holly in an elevator. I didn't say anything to her, mainly because Mandy was too busy talking that I couldn't get a word in around...oh, hi Mandy. ;)

Cheryl Holt was very polite. She introduced herself when she caught me reading her name badge in promo alley.

Shana Abe I met at Club RT during my author time and later at the bookfair. This woman is so incredibly nice, and very soft spoken. And, if you've never read her books, I recommend checking out THE SMOKE THIEF (of which I now have a very beautiful hardback copy of). She just has this very poetic way of writing and it flows so nicely.

Donna Grant from NCP was another sweetheart, as was Ryannon Byrd. Not only are these ladies talented, they're funny and so very nice. I enjoyed them so much.

Tawny Taylor and Patrice Michele are just as gorgeous in person. (lol, we'll hate them together---J/K) Tawny had some wonderful costumes for all the parties and if I remember correctly, she did them herself.

There was the infamous Jaci and CJ Burton. Jaci won a Reviewer Choice award and I know CJ sold out very fast of all his books at the bookfair, as I caught him up and about during the signing, lol. Both of them were just as nice as you'd expect "seeing" them online. Jaci was even kind enough to sign my copy of Kismet (her fairy series I love) and the copy of Paradise I got at the beautiful Fairy Ball as a gift.

Another "new friend" is Myra Nour and her wonderful husband, Simon. Simon was a great sport and even won best costume (I believe it was at the Vampire Ball). I had the pleasure of sitting with them during EC's party and seeing them throughout the week.

Liddy Midnight did a wonderful job on organizing EC's deck of playing cards. A definite collectors item. They were just beautiful. Funnily, I saw her on the plane on the way up only to meet her later. :)

Jaid Black (who signed a book for me--Yeah!)

Kate Brallier, author of Seal Island, TOR. She signed a copy for me. Wonderful read, very nice woman.

I met one half of the Ashleigh Raine writing duo.. "L" I know I keep saying everyone was nice and sweet, but I'll have to say it again. "L" was fabulous! It was too bad "J" couldn't be there too.

Crystal Bright and her buddy (I'm not sure if he was DH, boyfriend, friend), Mardi Ballou, Rowena Cherry (who's silver fairy ball gown was gorgeous and very regal), Brenna Lyons, Sylvia Day, Leigh Ellwood, Sahara Kelly, SL Carpenter (AKA Scott my wonderful Samhain cover artist), Kim Harrison (who signed a book for me at the signing, so I'm counting it as having met her, lol), Arianna Hart whose matches saved a few traveling companions on the way home after lighters were confiscated, lol, Lynn Lefleur who I saw on the plane home (and in an elevator where we signed each other's EC Deck of cards), Joey Hill, I saw LKH (does that count?), Shelly Laurenston, Chey McCray, Dakota Cassidy, Cait Miller in beautiful plaid, Janet Miller with her poor broken ankle--though after my fiftieth time of walking across the 2 mile long hotel (hey, I remember it as being that long) I was really jealous of her scooter.

JC Wilders costume at the EC party was great. Mandy was jealous of her cloak.

There was Jory Strong, Eve Vaughn, Kimberly Terry, ....okay, you know what, my mind is now on overload again. At this time, I welcome any authors I forgot (not because you were forgettable, but because it's late and I'm jetlagged) please feel free to step forward and throw soft items at me like teddy bears and pillows. :)

Aside from authors, I met wonderful editors, booksellers (if you ladies don't hear from me soon enough email me for that promo stuff I owe you, lol), NCP's Andrea and Madris, EC staff, Editor Jeri from NCP(i love her haircut), NCP staff....

Syneca, the EC coverartist who did Red Light Specialists. She was really nice and SOOO talented.

Okay, I really am stopping now that I've name dropped everyone I could possibly think of right now. :) All in all, it was a wonderful trip!

Test Your Brain!
My sister sent this to me. I'm usually not one for the massive forwards, but this one was fun. :)

Enjoy this is fun.
This is bizarre - after you find the guy - it's so obvious.
Once you find him - it's embarrassing!
You think why didn't I see him immediately?

Doctors have concluded that if you find the man in the coffee beans
in 3 seconds, your right half of your brain is better developed than most people.

If you find the man between 3 seconds and 1 minute, your right half of the brain is developed normally.

If you find the man between 1 minute and 3 minutes, then the right half of your brain is functioning slowly and you need to eat more protein.

If you have not found the man after 3 minutes, the advice is to look for
more of this type of exercise to make that part of the brain stronger!!!

And, yes, the man is really there!!!
